Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. – Galatians 6:9 NIV
Do you know that a person with a poverty or cursed mentality is afraid of doing something good for free? They are afraid of losing or being used. They are afraid of putting the seed in the ground unless they see the benefits first.
As for you, choose daily to have a blessed mentality. A blessed mentality is about blessing, and when you bless you get blessed. Remember the blessing of God follows a blessed mentality.
Do what are called intentional random acts of kindness. Try doing it anonymously and see the effects.
Small acts of kindness can make a huge difference to you and those around you. Do not be mean. Speak and greet others with love and words of inspiration. Be intentional about elevating them in your greeting. Smile as you speak positively. Use empathy as you connect. I can guarantee you that as you do this more, and more people will want to associate with you.
I come from a neighbourhood where if you great someone with a smile, they will say, ‘What are you laughing at?’ Everyone was broke, grumpy and mean. There was nothing for nothing. I had to change the way I think about myself and those around.
You can start by holding open a door and exhibit courtesy to others whenever you can. Stop the lift doors from closing for the guys behind you. Try to put someone else first ahead of your own needs or desires, just for a little while.
I am not saying get used by people. What I mean is as long as it does not cost you a cent just do it. Just do it. Plant a tree instead of just siting saying ‘I won’t do a thing on this house because I am renting.’
Goodness is so Godly such that it is the fruit of the Holy spirit.
Goodness [benevolence] is the state or quality of being good, beneficence, and it is love in action. It is the quality of being kind or doing good Goodness is a Godlike state or being.
It is very easy to be kind, good and gentle when all things are going your way. But when things in your life are not keep doing good.
Philippians 2:3 says, “Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves”
Speak words of appreciation and do small acts to show your love. Perhaps right now stop and think about one thing you can say or do to your family members today to show your goodness. Do not fall into the habit of focusing on the negative aspects.
Finally “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable —if anything is excellent or praiseworthy —think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me —put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” – Philippians 4:8-9.
